Audiobooks are Awesome, Also so is the Hunger Games

I have decided that it is one of my new "I Graduated College and Now I Work Full Time at a Burger Joint" Goals to update this blog more frequently.  I like writing and I might be good at it, might as well practice I guess.  It will better myself?  Or something.

Now that I'm graduated and don't have to do homework I find a lot of my time is vacated by time I used to spend doing homework.  Up until the Zine Fest I was mostly spending that time drawing comics but now I am spending a lot of it sewing.  Sewing is kinda boring you guys.  Don't get me wrong, I love creating and having a finish product to show for my creativity.  And I REALLY like it when people are willing to pay money for the things I make, but pumping out the same plush for several hours is well, kinda boring.  So I tend to put on Netflix while I do it.  Which is fine and all, but I think it makes me less productive due to looking at the screen occasionally.  This is when I thought of audiobooks.

Audiobooks, are a magical wonderful gift to productive people who like to continue being productive and also be entertained while doing repetitive tasks.  I discovered this when I was in drafting class a few years back and learned the joy that is the Jim Dale narrated audiobooks (BTW I know Stephen Fry narrated them and if anyone has them on disk and wants to lend them to me you will WIN AT LIFE).  There is such a sheer amount of audio it takes me months to get through the entire series.  Yes, I have listened to the entire series more than once, JUDGE ME I DON'T CARE.

Snape be Judging

But, while I deeply enjoy Harry Potter, even I can listen to them only so many times in a row.  So I had some iTunes cash burning a hole in my digital pocket AND the new Hunger Games movie ads are all over the CTA stops, so I purchased the first audiobook.  This was a couple weeks ago and I'm already done with the whole series (they are shortish for audiobooks).

General thoughts: They were very entertaining and I greatly appreciated that Katniss is a strong badass female character.  Oh and one other thing, they are totally FUCKED UP.  OMG seriously it would be hard for them to be more disturbing than they already are.  Also you know how people read fantasy books and then wish the world is real?  Example: UM WHERE IS MY HOGWARTS LETTER??? Well, if anyone feels that way about the Hunger Games world, then I'M SORRY SIR OR MADAM BUT YOU ARE WRONG.  DEAD WRONG.

Anyway, I'm going to see the movie on Friday.   I WILL HAVE SO MANY FEELS
